The Opportunity

- Ongoing, full time position based in the Melbourne CBD , but with regular travel to regional offices and different Youth Justice precincts in order to deliver face-to-face training, working within business operational requirements and hours.
- VPS 4 role: $100,894 - $114,476 per year plus superannuation.
- Deliver clinical training to Youth Justice staff across custodial, community, court and regional settings, incorporating multicultural and multifaith perspectives, to ensure effective knowledge transfer and practical skill application.
- Exercise professional judgement to plan, adapt and deliver clinical learning sessions, applying sound theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in child and youth development and trauma‑informed practice.
- Provide coaching and constructive feedback to Youth Justice staff to embed skills and practices in the workplace and support a culture of continuous learning across the precincts.
- Respond to participant disclosures by balancing individual support with cohort psychological safety and continuity and facilitate timely referral to relevant wellbeing services via a warm handover

To be successful in this role you will have :

- A relevant qualification in psychology, social work or a related field, supported by demonstrated experience applying professional knowledge in practice and translating this into the delivery of clinical education tailored to Youth Justice contexts.
- Demonstrated expertise in delivering training that builds deep multicultural and multifaith understanding, ensuring participants develop the capability to apply culturally responsive,



inclusive and trauma‑informed approaches in practice with highly diverse youth justice cohorts.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging clinical training to operational staff, applying sound theoretical and practical knowledge of child and youth development, cultural safety and trauma‑informed practice in Youth Justice or comparable settings.
- Proficiency in evidence‑based practices, including Cognitive Behavioural Techniques and Motivational Interviewing, with the ability to translate these into practical, skills‑based training and development.
- Experience exercising professional judgement to develop and adapt targeted learning interventions within departmental guidelines.
- Experience coaching and providing feedback to embed and develop essential skills and practices among frontline operational staff.
- Capacity to adapt facilitation style and content to diverse audiences and operational settings, and to manage delivery effectively across multiple locations.
- An undergraduate degree in psychology, social work or a related field is required .
- A current driver’s licence is required , as the role involves regular travel to regional offices and precincts to deliver training.

You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check, which you will need to maintain for the period of employment.
