Role Description

The Bartender role at Oliveto Restaurant & Bar is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Sydney Area. The bartender prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, follows standardized recipes, and ensures all drinks meet quality and presentation standards. Daily responsibilities include greeting guests, taking drink orders, providing recommendations, managing bar stock, and maintaining cleanliness of the bar area and equipment. The bartender handles cash and electronic payments accurately, follows responsible service of alcohol guidelines, and works closely with the front-of-house team and kitchen to support smooth service.



This role also involves setting up and closing down the bar, restocking supplies, and contributing to a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for guests and colleagues.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Customer Service and Communication skills to interact with guests and team members in a professional, friendly manner.
- Candidates should possess Food & Beverage knowledge, including familiarity with cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic options, as well as basic food menu pairing.
- Candidates should possess Bartending skills, including drink preparation, use of bar equipment, and adherence to responsible service of alcohol regulations.
- Candidates should possess Cash Handling skills, including processing payments, managing tabs, and reconciling bills accurately.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate and prior experience in a bar or restaurant setting are highly beneficial.
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining hygiene and safety standards.
