Your role will involve:
Hydrographer is a primarily a field-based role that involves providing technical expertise in operating, maintaining, and calibrating hydrometric instruments, as well as delivering hydrometric data and related services across water and wastewater networks.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Perform field and office-based hydrometric data collection, verification, and anomaly detection across diverse instrumentation.
- Safely access confined spaces in wastewater networks for calibration and maintenance tasks.
- Calibrate and maintain SCADA, IICATS, and IoT-based monitoring systems at various locations.
- Process and validate data, ensuring quality and compliance with operational standards.
- Analyse hydrometric data and report on system performance to meet licence obligations.
- Collaborate on project teams and contribute technical expertise.
- Mentor junior staff to uphold high standards in hydrography practices.
- Maintain specialised equipment and conduct measurements per industry protocols.
- Manage data using HYDSTRA for accurate reporting and documentation.
- Drive innovation by identifying and implementing customer‑focused solutions.

Qualifications:
- Diploma in Water Operations or working towards or appropriate related tertiary qualifications.
- A current NSW driver’s licence.
- Valid/ obtain Confined Space certificate.
- General WHS Construction card.
- RMS Traffic Control certificates, Senior First Aid certificate, Specialist Gas Testing certificate.
- Valid/ obtain current inoculations in Hepatitis A, B and Tetanus.
- Substantial experience in the wastewater/water industry.
- Demonstrated experience working under limited direction and to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience in the operation, calibration and maintenance of hydrometric field equipment.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring of inexperienced staff in all aspects of field hydrography.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting interpretation and evaluation of data preferably from hydrometric networks.
- Demonstrated high levels of safety performance for self and others.
