About the role
- Work 7am – 3.30pm each day, with one earlier finish per week
- Lead a small and experienced FoH and BoH team to deliver fantastic customer experience and consistently outstanding food & coffee
- Facilitate workplace training for young people impacted by the Youth Justice system with the support of our Youth Programs team
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, labour laws, and our internal youth safety protocols
- Oversee all daily tasks including opening and closing the venue, stock management, cleaning and venue presentation, managing COGs/wastage and labour costs, and recordkeeping
- Use your leadership capabilities to uplift your team and manage underdeveloped skills
- Maintain a high level of professional communication and responsiveness with your area supervisor, operations manager, and other internal stakeholders
We’d love for you to have
- Genuine passion for hospitality and outstanding all-round knowledge of Melbourne’s food and coffee culture
- Excellent leadership and motivational skills and the confidence to manage underperformance in your team
- An understanding of managing COGs and Labour targets
- Effective time management and communication, both verbal and written
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Barista in specialty coffee is essential
