Heidelberg Materials (formerly Hanson) is seeking a Quarry Operator for our Ferny Grove Quarry. The role reports to the Quarry Manager and is initially casual, progressing to full‑time for the right candidate.
About the Role
Operate mobile equipment including dump trucks, front‑end loaders, and excavators; run the crushing and screening plant; perform general fixed plant maintenance and inspections. During busy periods, assist wherever needed. Follow safety and Zero Harm commitments and adhere to pre‑start and maintenance procedures for all plant.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain mobile equipment (dump truck, front‑end loader, excavator).
- Operate crushing and screening plant.
- Inspect and maintain fixed plant.
- Assist with any quarry tasks during high demand periods.
- Follow safety procedures and Lead Zero Harm initiatives.
Qualifications
- Quarry or mining experience.
- Experience operating front‑end loaders, dump trucks and/or excavators.
- Ability to work independently in a small team.
- Skilled work ethic and a “can do” attitude.
