You will join our Product & Design team, pushing boundaries to create sparkle and magic across our collections and within our community. The role of Product Designer - Swimwear, Apparel & Accessories serves as our primary technical anchor. You will partner with the broader design team to break down category silos, ensure flawless fit, and drive product innovation across all categories.
This position is designed for a versatile mid-level designer who possesses deep, specialised technical expertise in high-stretch/swim construction, but thrives when applying those skills across a wider variety of apparel and accessory lifestyle ranges.
Technical Design & Fit Mastery
- CADs & Tech Packs: Translate creative direction into highly detailed CADs and build comprehensive tech packs (construction callouts, specs, materials, and components.
- Fabric & Trim Management: Maintain our stretch fabric library, understand recovery/printing methods, and develop precise placement guides for branding and harware.
- Fit Leadership: Drive live model fit sessions, analyse sample behaviour (stretch, underwire structure), and issue actionable revision reports to factories.
- Sizing & Approvals:
Coordinate full size-sets for grading consistency and liaise with the print team for strike-off, base cloth, and lab dip approvals.
- Handle daily technical correspondence with offshore suppliers and sample rooms to negotiate solutions and resolve production queries.
- Cross-Functional Synergy: Supply clean CAD assets and construction details to Wholesale, Marketing, and Graphic Design for range books and campaign planning.
- On-the-Ground Development: Research high-performance fabrics and trims, and travel to factories in China to provide technical construction advice (e.g., twin needle, flatlock, coverstitch).
Team Support & Administration
- Ment orship: Guide and train junior staff, collaborating with the Junior Product Assistant to keep daily sampling trackers up to date.
- Comp liance: Assist with correct terminology for HS codes (US) & DPP (EU).
Skills and Experience You Bring
- Industry Stint: Minimum 5 years in a dedicated swimwear, activewear, or intimate apparel design/development role.
- Education: Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, or Garment Apparel Technology.
- Software Pro: Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for CADs, backed by strong Excel skills for tech-pack architecture.
- Construction Expert: Deep understanding of high-stretch fabrications (elastane ratios), specialised stitch types, and underwire/cup construction.
- Global Communicator: Proven track record of communicating technical revisions directly and effectively to offshore factories.
- Future-Focused: A proactive openness to exploring emerging AI tools to optimise workflow and shorten design-to-production cycles.
