We are seeking an experienced Outbye Mechanical Coordinator to join our Centurion underground mine located 160 kilometres west of Mackay.
About the Role
Reporting to the Outbye Superintendent, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation, maintenance and establishment of the underground infrastructure including conveyor systems.
Duties (Responsibilities)
- Lead a systematic approach in the identification and delivery of sustainable mechanical maintenance processes and methods.
- Effectively lead and develop the mechanical maintenance crews to ensure optimal performance of equipment and delivery of the mine plan.
- Manage engagement with OEMs and contractors.
- Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives across crews.
- Ensure all statutory inspections and maintenance tooling/safety equipment are maintained and periodic calibrations/inspections recorded.
- Ensure underground equipment compliance aligns with site standards.
- Assist with budget development and expenditure management via SAP maintenance/purchasing system.
- Oversee and guide execution of the weekly work and shutdown schedules to minimise unscheduled work.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements and all Peabody and Centurion site policies and procedures.

Qualifications
- Mechanical trade qualification or engineering degree.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or similar leadership role in outbye within an underground coal mine.
- Extensive knowledge of conveyor systems, conveyor maintenance and conveyor management.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to foster a positive safety culture.
- Valid supervisor qualifications (S1, S2, S3 & G2).
- Strong leadership and ability to motivate a high-performing team.
- Proficiency with a computerised maintenance management systems (SAP) and MS Office suite.
- Commitment to safety, sound risk and hazard identification understanding, flexibility, and a sound work ethic.
