Inspire People is partnering with Acora, a progressive full-stack, full-service business technology services partner built for the AI era, to appoint a Data Engineer with robust Azure and Microsoft Fabric expertise to deliver high-quality Data & AI solutions into enterprise environments. The Data Engineer will help shape and deliver high‑quality Data & AI solutions, working on projects end‑to‑end and acting as a core member for technical delivery within development teams. You will support and implement key technical decisions and bring proven Azure and Microsoft Fabric knowledge to drive best‑practice implementation. This is a contract role based in Sydney, for an initial 6 month period with the opportunity for a permanent role. Competitive day rate.

You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth delivery, while also supporting the development of junior team members through coaching and knowledge‑sharing.

Role Responsibilities

- Confidently deliver on projects as part of a team, from a technical and customer facing aspect to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of projects
- Actively work on projects adhering to best practices and delivering high-quality, robust solutions
- Implementation of Data Governance and Security best practices
- Contribute to design workshops with stakeholders and business leaders to help advise technical solutions
- Awareness of standard data modelling, ETL processes, and analytics
- Develop and improve technical skills within Microsoft Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, and security
- Ability to implement and manage solutions on Microsoft Azure,



with a strong focus on Microsoft Fabric
- Work within cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, architects, business intelligence developers and data engineers, to deliver innovative solutions that drive customer value
- Support and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and knowledge-sharing within the team
- Understanding and exposure to implementation of AI Agents within Azure

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

- Proficiency within Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric
- Proficiency with Microsoft Purview advantageous
- Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate issues to technical and non-technical people
- Able to simply and clearly communicate technical design in conversation, documentation and presentations
- In-depth experience of technical development within Data and AI
- Intermediate experience with SQL, Python, C# and DotNet
- Intermediate experience with Apache Spark using SQL, PySpark, or Scala
- Proven experience in the Software Development Lifecycle
- Intermediate experience with the creation of Continuous Integration and Delivery pipelines
- Used to delivering within an Agile delivery team using Scrum or Kanban methodologies
