Looking for a meaningful way to stay active and connected to your community?

As a School Crossing Supervisor, you’ll play an important role in helping children get to and from school safely. It’s a simple but vital job that makes a real difference every day.

You’ll work short one hour shifts in the morning and afternoon during school terms, perfect if you’re looking for flexible work that fits around your lifestyle.

What does a School Crossing Supervisor Do?

- Help children and pedestrians cross the road safely
- Manage traffic flow and signal vehicles to stop when required
- Follow clear procedures to reduce the risk of accidents
- Be a friendly, reassuring presence for children and families
- Promote protected road behaviours in your local community

Would I be a good School Crossing Supervisor?

This role could be a great fit if you enjoy being part of your community and want to make a meaningful difference. You don’t need formal qualifications, what matters most is your attitude and commitment to keeping children safe.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be:

- Friendly, reliable and safety-focused
- Confident communicating with children and drivers
- Calm, approachable and able to use good judgement
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

You’ll also need (or be willing to obtain):

- A Working with Children Check
- A Police Check
- A Medical Check

A standard Medical Check is required for this role. We need to make sure we are providing a safe workplace for you and it’s not about being “super fit”. The medical check simply ensures you can safely work outdoors and stand for short periods in different weather conditions.
