Centacare North Queensland is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Education and Life Skills Practitioner to join our dedicated team in Townsville. In this rewarding role, you'll deliver evidence-based education programs that empower children, young people, adults and families to strengthen their relationships, parenting skills, emotional wellbeing and life skills.

Job Description

About the Role





As an Education and Life Skills Practitioner, you will:

- Facilitate engaging psychoeducational programs for children and adults.
- Deliver evidence-based parenting, personal development and life skills courses.
- Conduct client intake, psychosocial and risk assessments, making appropriate referrals where required.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan, deliver and evaluate group programs.
- Build strong relationships with schools, community organisations and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate client records and contribute to continuous service improvement.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

You are someone who enjoys connecting with people and facilitating engaging group learning experiences.

You'll also bring:

- A degree in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural Sciences or a related discipline.
- Experience working with children, families and/or community groups.
- Excellent communication and group facilitation skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
- A commitment to culturally safe and inclusive practice.
- Robust organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

You will also hold, or have the ability to obtain and maintain:

- Queensland Driver Licence
- Queensland Blue Card
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- National Police Check.
