Our client is a well-established and highly regarded Melbourne accounting and advisory firm to find an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join their growing tax advisory team. They are a well respected practice with a long history and national client reach, now backing an ambitious growth strategy and investing heavily in its people. You'll step into a 100% advisory role with broad exposure to genuinely complex work.
About the Role
You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality tax advisory work across a diverse client base advising on income tax, GST and FBT matters, and contributing to the continued growth of the firm's tax offering.
Day to day, you'll:
- Provide trusted tax advisory support to clients and to the broader firm
- Deliver income tax-focused advisory work across areas such as business and group restructures, mergers and acquisitions, employee share schemes and international expansion
- Consider key income tax issues including CGT rollovers, tax consolidation, tax loss utilisation and Division 7A
- Support ATO reviews, audits, objections, early engagements and ruling applications through technical responses and documentation
- Undertake technical tax research to support tax positions and decision making
- Contribute to the delivery of tax risk management and governance frameworks for businesses and groups
- Undertake tax due diligence as part of the firm's Corporate Finance offering
- Collaborate with managers and senior leaders to deliver integrated client outcomes

You're an experienced tax qualified with strong technical expertise and a proactive, solutions-focused approach. You're equally comfortable working collaboratively and operating independently, managing competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.
To be considered, you'll bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance
- 3+ years' tax experience, ideally across CGT and restructuring, corporate and/or trust taxation, and Division 7A
- A strong background in private and/or corporate tax
- Strong research, analytical, organisational and communication skills
- A track record of delivering advisory-focused engagements for a broad range of clients
- Strong stakeholder management skills and a client-centric approach
