Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Calibration Technician role based in Melbourne and regional Victoria. The Calibration Technician will perform routine and complex calibration of gas detection and instrumentation devices, ensuring equipment accuracy and compliance with relevant standards. Responsibilities include setting up and operating test equipment, conducting measurements, documenting results, and maintaining calibration records and certificates. The role involves troubleshooting instrumentation issues, assisting with preventive maintenance, and supporting laboratory and field-based testing activities. The technician will collaborate with engineers and technical staff, follow safety procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement of calibration processes and quality systems.





Qualifications

- Preferred sound Calibration skills with experience in maintaining and verifying measurement accuracy of instruments and sensors however willing to provide on the job training to enthusiastic learner.
- Proficiency with Test Equipment such as multimeters, calibrators, gas detectors, and related diagnostic tools.
- Troubleshooting abilities for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving faults in instrumentation and control systems.
- Knowledge of Instrumentation principles, including process control, automation systems, and industrial measurement techniques.
- Preferred Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in instrumentation, electronics,or a closely related field however willing to on-board enthusiastic learner who is eager to pursue a career in this industry long term should they not have a relevant qualification.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to follow quality and safety standards.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Experience in gas detection or industrial automation environments is advantageous.
- Must be accepting to travel around Victoria as works are on various sites and locations across the state.
