The Organization

Our client is a leading government-owned financial services organization embarking on a major transformation program to implement a new Treasury Management System (TMS) . This critical initiative will modernise treasury operations, financial risk management, reporting, analytics and data capabilities across the organization.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead project management activities for a high-profile TMS implementation. This is a 24-month contract and prefers someone with Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency .

Working closely with senior stakeholders, treasury SMEs, technology teams and software vendors, you will be responsible for defining requirements, redesigning business processes and ensuring the successful delivery of a modern treasury platform.

Key Responsibilities Include

- Providing authoritative, expert project management for and leadership of Treasury Management System Project.
- Driving the process re-engineering necessary to achieve the key project objectives which will directly benefit its clients.
- Negotiating a new contract with the successful supplier of core business system, as part of the procurement negotiation team. This will be a complex contract with a large and complex transition-in project.
- Overseeing and reviewing technical design components in consultation with subject matter experts and project team members, including business analysts and enterprise architects, to ensure the development of accurate specifications and associated documentation.
- Overseeing critical user acceptance testing and training during project implementation.




- Establishing and maintaining positive key relationships internally/externally via constructive transparent communication that fosters accountability and an environment of working together to achieve outcomes.
- Developing the project schedules that are critical to the project’s success and ensuring all deliverables, task, dependencies, timeframes and effort is captured and agreed across teams.
- Monitoring and controlling the project schedules to ensure stakeholders complete tasks in a planned and structured manner, and where timeframes are not being achieved report and elevate as appropriate.

Required Skills

- Relevant experience in the financial markets industry, working within a treasury organization, central borrowing authority or financial markets workplace.
- Sound understanding of treasury and funding management, financial risk management, analytics and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex business system related projects that have critical importance and a significant impact on organizational objectives.
- Extensive contract management expertise in the field of information technology.
- Well established experience in planning, prioritising, and organising work for self and others to achieve goals and meet deadlines, including dealing with competing demands and managing multiple project tasks in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated significant success in forging networks and working relationships, engaging with agency representatives, managing stakeholders, and negotiating to achieve the best outcome.
- Extensive understanding of complex business systems architecture, with the ability to provide authoritative oversight and assurance that solutions align with strategic, operational and governance requirements.
