We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler with 8+ years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise-scale data models. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in dimensional and relational data modeling, data warehousing, SQL, and metadata management. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, and development teams to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient data structures that enable analytics and operational reporting.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models following industry best practices to ensure data quality, consistency, and minimal redundancy.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and analysts to understand requirements and translate them into effective data structures and database designs.
- Create, maintain, and govern enterprise data models, metadata repositories, data dictionaries, and model documentation.
- Develop and implement dimensional models (Star and Snowflake schemas) to support data warehousing and analytics initiatives.
- Perform reverse engineering of existing databases and SQL scripts to derive and optimize data models.
- Validate business data entities, relationships, and attributes for completeness and accuracy.
- Partner with application development, integration, and data engineering teams to implement data strategies and end-to-end data flows.
- Analyze and resolve data integration challenges, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
- Review and optimize existing data models to support evolving business and technology requirements.
- Ensure adherence to data governance, security,



and compliance standards across all data assets.

Required Skills & Experience

- 8+ years of experience in Data Modeling, Data Architecture, or related roles.
- Strong expertise in Dimensional Modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema) and Relational Data Modeling.
- Hands-on experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin, PowerDesigner, ER/Studio, or equivalent.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, database design, and query optimization.
- In-depth understanding of Data Warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration concepts.
- Experience working with large-scale enterprise databases and cloud data platforms.
- Ability to create and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, lineage documentation, and model diagrams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex data concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Knowledge of enterprise data governance and master data management (MDM).
- Exposure to contemporary analytics platforms including Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or Azure Synapse.
- Experience in financial services, superannuation, or large enterprise environments is advantageous.
