Looking for an exciting career where tech meets the tracks? As a Traffic Officer for Wilmar Sugar & Renewables you'll be at the heart of keeping our Cane trains running safely and efficiently. You'll use real-time GPS tracking, smart scheduling systems, and data analytics to optimise the movement of trains, ensuring the secure transport of raw materials and products.

Located in North Queensland, Proserpine offers a laid-back lifestyle, with exciting outdoor adventures right at your doorstep. This is a seasonal position in Cane Supply and Transport which requires shift work during the crushing season, including weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

- Ensure Continuous Cane Supply: Manage train schedules and operations to maintain a steady and reliable flow of Sugar Cane to the mill, supporting uninterrupted production.
- Coordination of Train Movement: Oversee the safe and efficient movement of trains on the Proserpine Region railway networks, adjusting loco schedules as needed.
- Real-Time Digital Monitoring: Use advanced control systems with real-time GPS and automation tools to monitor and manage train movements, ensuring accurate scheduling and avoiding delays.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Apply big data analytics to predict issues, optimize schedules, and adjust operations based on real-time conditions, enhancing overall efficiency.
- Smart Safety Systems:



Implement technologies to monitor rail infrastructure and train conditions, ensuring safety and immediate alerts for any abnormalities.
- Personnel Supervision and Training: Supervise staff, manage associated administration, and coordinate on-the-job training for loco crews, ensuring adherence to quality control standards and effective record-keeping.
- Advanced Communication: Utilize cloud-based platforms and mobile apps for seamless communication with train drivers, production teams, and logistics managers, including growers and contractors regarding bin allocations and harvesting information.
- Digital Twin Technology: Employ virtual simulation tools to model and predict operational scenarios, refining control strategies in a risk-free environment.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you'll need a solid understanding of Cane Supply and Transport operations, a commitment to safety, and great communication skills. Tech-savvy with intermediate computer skills and a manual 'C' class driver's license are essential.
