Role Scope

The Electrical Commissioning and Start Up Technician is responsible for delivering a high quality, consistent and competent service in accordance with project/company requirements, standards and procedures to support overall delivery of company goals and schedule. This role will be under general supervision to perform commissioning, troubleshooting and repair of various equipment.

Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with the site cardinal safety rules and all safety aspects in execution of work.
- Ensure procedures and permits are followed safely.
- Commissioning, troubleshooting and repair of MCCs, VSDs, distribution panels, motors, lighting and small power.
- Inspect, test, adjust and commission equipment to satisfy appropriate governing standards.
- Work within OEM guidelines.
- Demonstrate high-quality fault‑finding skills and the ability to troubleshoot autonomously.
- Observe and supervise vendor staff working on or near the facilities as required.
- Carry out Cause and Effect Testing.
- Attend system walkdowns.
- Complete rectification works as required.
- Close out punch items.




- Liaise with other discipline teams to undertake commissioning and start‑up activities safely.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, along with a Cert III in Electrical Craft and proven expertise. They will hold an EEHA Certification, possess a current First Aid Certificate and LV Rescue, and ideally have nationally accredited training in Working at Heights. A current Full or Restricted Queensland Electrical Licence is also required.
