Contractor Site Manager

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Contractor Site Manager to join our client's team, working on a major data centre construction project in Western Sydney.

Working alongside specialist high‑voltage installation and commissioning teams, you will be responsible for coordinating all site activities that support the successful delivery of HV switchgear works.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where safety, quality and productive project execution are paramount.

This role is ideal for an experienced Site Manager with a background in high‑voltage electrical infrastructure, utilities, industrial or large‑scale construction projects.

About the Role

As the Site Manager, you will oversee all site operations associated with the HV switchgear scope, ensuring the site is fully prepared to support installation and commissioning activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage daily site operations and coordinate all site activities.
- Lead and supervise subcontractors, site labour and supporting trades.
- Coordinate site logistics, material deliveries, storage and site access.
- Manage cranes, lifting operations, scaffolding and temporary works.
- Develop and maintain site schedules aligned with project milestones.
- Monitor progress and provide regular reporting to project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, risk assessments and permit management.




- Maintain high housekeeping and environmental standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for site-related matters.
- Coordinate inspections and ensure site readiness for commissioning.

Essential Experience

- Proven experience as a Site Manager or Site Supervisor on high‑voltage electrical projects.
- Experience supporting HV switchgear installation and commissioning activities.
- Background in utilities, industrial facilities, substations, data centres or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong contractor and subcontractor management experience.
- Thorough understanding of Australian HSE requirements and construction site compliance.
- Experience coordinating cranes, lifting operations, scaffolding and site logistics.

Qualifications

- Electrical Trade Qualification or Engineering qualification.
- Current White Card.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and industry regulations.
