GTNTGroup is proud to partner with Power and Water Corporation to offer an exciting traineeship chance with the NT's largest electrical and water provider. We are currently seeking to employ aWater Systems Operator trainee hosted by Power and Water Corporation in Katherine. As a paidWater Systems Operatortrainee you will gain hands‑on experience while completing a nationally recognised Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (NWP30222). The role supports the provision ofwater and wastewater services to urban and remote customers across the Northern Territorypredominately in the Big Rivers Region.

As a Water Systems Operator trainee you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring water treatment and distribution systems. Your primary role is to support the service, maintenance and delivery of clean, safe drinking water to Territorians and treat to wastewater and sewage effectively.

To be successful in this role, you will have/be:

- Driver's Licence
- A good level of Maths and English
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with a genuine desire to learn and work in a team environment
- Demonstrated commitment to safety awareness and performance
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to obtain a Police Check.

Qualification Description:

This is a qualification for those engaged in generalist water industry operations or specialisations in catchment and dams, civil construction, irrigation water supply, networks, treatment: water and wastewater, wastewater treatment or water treatment.

Nominal Duration: This qualification has a set nominal duration of 24 months. This is the amount of time you need to be committed to, for successful completion of this qualification
