About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Electrician to join our team on a full-time basis, 38 hours per week, with overtime if required. This role is located in Portland or onsite at project locations, predominantly onsite at Portland Aluminium. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical installations, maintenance, fault finding, and repairs within industrial environments. You’ll work closely with clients, supervisors, and team members to ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out industrial electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs
- Fault finding and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment
- Working on motors, control systems, switchboards, and industrial machinery
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents
- Testing, commissioning, and inspecting electrical systems
- Performing preventative maintenance and breakdown response
- Ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and safety regulations
- Working collaboratively with clients, supervisors, and other trades
- Maintaining accurate job records and documentation
- Supporting the smooth delivery of industrial projects and maintenance works
What We’re Looking For
- Current A Grade Electrical Licence - Grade 5 to 7
- Minimum 5 years experience in industrial electrical work
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, schematics, and technical drawings
- Experience with industrial maintenance, installations, and breakdown work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Reliable, punctual, well presented in appearance, and professional
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
Desirable
- Experience in heavy industry, manufacturing, or processing environments
- Knowledge of PLCs, motor control, and automation systems
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs
- Working at Heights and EWP tickets
- First Aid certification
- Confined Space and Lockout/Tagout experience
- Strong computer and reporting skills
