About The Role
As a Regional Field Technical Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the Technical Service function of BYD Service centres. You will provide expert technical advice and hands‑on diagnostic support across your assigned region. This includes addressing technical issues, supporting warranty and recall cases, and investigating field concerns to deliver quick and effective resolutions. This role is critical in bridging the gap between our service network and the national head office by reporting on field issues, product quality concerns, and ensuring continuous improvement in both technical performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to dealer technical support requests through designated channels.
- Perform on‑site vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting to support dealers and service centres.
- Identify and report product quality issues found in the field, support investigations and follow‑up actions.
- Lead the resolution of customer concerns, working with both service teams and end customers.
- Act as the "eyes and ears" in the field, providing feedback and insights to the Aftersales team.
- Monitor technician competency levels within your region and recommend targeted training opportunities.
- Support visits from factory engineers at service centres and Pre‑Delivery Inspection (PDI) facilities.
About You – Key Requirements
- Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) or equivalent qualification (Automotive Electrician also considered).
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a technical support or customer service role within the automotive industry.
- Master Technician or Diagnostic Technician status is preferred.
- Strong diagnostic skills and hands‑on capability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good understanding of dealership operations, workshop processes, and automotive service best practices.
- Self‑driven, customer‑focused, and able to manage responsibilities across multiple locations.
