We are currently seeking an experienced Underground Mobile Maintenance Supervisor to join our Underground Maintenance team. This is an chance to lead a skilled maintenance crew and support the safe, reliable and efficient performance of Norton's underground mobile fleet.
About the Role
Reporting to the Underground Maintenance Foreman, the Underground Mobile Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of HD Mechanics, Auto Electricians, Boilermakers, Service Personnel and contractors.
The role will coordinate planned and breakdown maintenance activities, manage labour and resources and ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with statutory requirements, company standards and maintenance plans.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing day-to-day leadership and direction to underground maintenance personnel.
- Mentoring the team in troubleshooting, safe work practices and quality standards.
- Coordinating labour and resources against the weekly maintenance schedule.
- Leading major breakdown repairs and supporting effective breakdown management.
- Ensuring scheduled maintenance tasks are completed and accurately closed within the maintenance system.
- Reviewing machine defects and confirming labour and parts requirements.
- Ensuring isolations, permits,
barricading and critical controls are correctly applied.
- Maintaining Schedule 26 and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Monitoring employee training, competency and development.
- Providing accurate shift handovers and escalating critical fleet issues.
- Working closely with Operations, Planning, Reliability, Warehouse and OEM representatives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience leading mobile maintenance teams within an underground mining environment.
Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualification in heavy plant.
Minimum three years' experience as a Mobile Maintenance Supervisor or in a similar mining leadership role.
Experience maintaining underground mobile equipment.
Strong understanding of underground mobile fleets and maintenance practices.
Experience using a CMMS such as AMT or SAP.
Robust leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
Additional maintenance, leadership or professional qualifications.
