ADCO Holdings Pty Ltd t/a The Job Shop, is a purpose led organisation that empowers communities, by cultivating life changing opportunities, one job at a time.
We are an Approved Employer underThe Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme . We place between 400-500 Seasonal Workers fromTimor-Leste and thePacific Islands (Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Fiji & Samoa) across Australia each year to assist businesses within horticulture, hospitality and various other sectors. We have been involved in this program since 2017.
We are seeking a casualWellbeing & Support Representative(WSR) to assist groups of PALM Scheme workers located in the Darwin region.
The specific work hours will need to suit the groups varying work schedules - this will include some late afternoon/evening and weekend obligations. The number of hours anticipated to complete the role will be 5-20 hours per week, with some additional hours required during peak harvest periods.
The Role
The successful applicant will;
Assist with the logistics involved with workers arriving, including On Arrival Briefings, assisting with banking, mobile phone set up, App on boarding and other tasks to ensure the successful integration of workers into the NT.
To provide similar logistics and support for workers departing the NT.
Assist with the delivery of the pastoral care plan for workers by ensuring basic living and working requirements such as, the accommodation and appropriate day to day living conditions are maintained, transportation is available and the ability to attend church, and other social activities is available.
Conduct, as a minimum, fortnightly meetings, face-to-face with Workers to check their progress,
identify issues and enable them to raise any concerns.
Keep records of all meetings and any Grievances raised, and actions taken to resolve matters.
Provide training to each Worker regarding the information on their pay slips, including information related to any deductions.
Maintain clear, direct and regular communication to keep ADCO Holdings management up to date on all matters
Assist Workers to promptly access medical and allied health services when needed and/or requested by the Worker
Act as an advocate within the community for the workers and the PALM Scheme
Assist with handling any Fleet Management matters ie. ensure regular servicing and checks are conducted on vehicles
Provide a weekly report of activities undertaken in the role to include crucial detail on Workers' Welfare & Wellbeing.
About You
The successful candidate will be fair minded, understanding there is more than one side to any story, be proactive and have excellent interpersonal skills. The ability to communicate, negotiate and resolve conflict is an essential part of the role.
The following skills are required:
- Background working in a people focused role, such as Teaching or Community Services
- Be able to come up with solutions raised amongst both teams and individuals
- Have a mature perspective and approach
- Be able to build strong connections and relationships with people
- The role requires driving to visit the employees in their accommodation or at their workplace. A valid Northern Territory Driver's License is essential
- Be adaptable with work hours
- A company vehicle, mobile phone and laptop will be provided.
