We are seeking applications to fill the role of Learning and Development Officer in our People and Culture team. This is a full-time permanent position; however, a part time arrangement may be considered. Applicants seeking a part-time arrangement should advise of this in their application.
About the role
The successful applicant will coordinate and support Council's learning and development function, by planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating training programs, employee development activities and compliance requirements, ensuring Council meets legislative and organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Procurement, organization and scheduling of all employee travel (excluding Councillors and CEO) as per Council's Travel Operational Standard.
- Procurement, organisation and scheduling of all Training and Development activities for Council employees.
- Preparation and monitoring of Council's annual Training and Development Budgets (OBUD, RBUD, RBUD2).
- Coordinate Council's Traineeship Program, including Contract sign-up, module selection, monitoring trainee progress and liaising with relevant training providers and government agencies.
- Monitor organisational compliance with training, qualification and authorisation requirements and provide reports and recommendations to management regarding identified risks,
gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct Employee Inductions (excluding Work Health and Safety induction) for all new employees and maintain an up-to-date Induction Program.

The applicable salary for this position is $86,797pa with the commencing salary dependent upon the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
