Your new company Hays is proud to be partnering with a well-established and growing Tasmanian business to recruit an experienced HR Manager. With a workforce of approximately 90 employees across operational and corporate functions, the organisation has reached an exciting stage of growth and is now seeking its first dedicated internal HR specialist.
Your new role This is a newly created role that will provide an opportunity to build strong people practices, partner closely with leaders and make a genuine impact across the business. Based in Northern Tasmania, you will work across multiple sites, supporting both office-based employees and operational teams in a hands-on, generalist capacity. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will be responsible for all aspects of human resources, providing practical advice and support on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary matters, recruitment, compliance and workplace policies. You will play a key role in ensuring HR processes remain fit for purpose as the organisation continues to grow, while supporting leaders to confidently manage people matters across their teams.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful,
you will be an experienced HR generalist who enjoys being close to the operation and providing practical solutions. You will bring strong knowledge of employment legislation, HR compliance and WHS, along with demonstrated experience coaching and supporting leaders through a broad range of people issues. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with employees across both field-based and office environments. This position would suit someone who thrives in a dynamic, evolving business and enjoys creating structure, improving processes and helping build a positive workplace culture. Flexibility and responsiveness are key, as occasional support may be required outside normal business hours when employee matters arise.
