The position:

The Education Officer: Literacy provides system-level support to schools across Catholic Education NT, strengthening whole-school literacy through evidence-based instruction, data-informed practice, and high-quality curriculum support for educators in remote, regional, and urban school communities.

Key responsibilities:

As Education Officer you will:

Support the implementation of the CENT Literacy Frameworks and Instructional Model.

Work with school leadership teams, teachers, and support staff across Aboriginal Catholic Community Schools, regional,



and urban schools to use data to improve literacy outcomes.

Deliver qualified learning to build teacher and assistant capacity in literacy across discipline areas.

Provide whole-class instructional support through collaborative planning, team teaching, and formal and informal professional learning opportunities.

Support educators to embed culturally responsive, trauma-informed strategies that meet individual student needs.

About you:

We are looking for someone who:

Demonstrates excellence and leadership in literacy instruction.

Has strong knowledge of, and experience with, the Australian Curriculum.

Possesses high-level organisational, analytical, and conceptual skills.

Is able to work effectively in leadership and supportive roles and as an active team member.

Has the capacity to design and deliver high-quality professional learning for teachers.

Has experience using data to inform targets, actions, and measures to improve literacy outcomes.

Is willing to support the culture and Catholic ethos of Catholic Education NT.

Is willing to travel to Aboriginal Catholic Community Schools, including remote travel.

Holds (or is able to obtain) an Ochre Card, a current NT Driver’s Licence,

Must have a Bachelor or Master’s qualification in Education.
