Yinhawangka Aboriginal Corporation (YAC) is the Prescribed Body Corporate for the Yinhawangka people of the Pilbara region of Western Australia. We are a community-controlled organisation representing and advancing the rights, interests, and aspirations of our Traditional Owners.

An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Project Coordinator – Living Cultures to join our Living Cultures team. This is more than a project coordination role.

It is an prospect to contribute to programs that preserve Yinhawangka language, culture, heritage, and knowledge while supporting community-led initiatives that will benefit generations to come. The role coordinates the planning, implementation, and delivery of multiple projects across the Living Cultures Program, ensuring they align with YAC's Strategic Plan, Living Cultures Steering Committee priorities and Partnership Agreement.

Reporting to the Senior Anthropologist – Manager Living Cultures,



you will provide high-level coordination across a diverse portfolio of cultural programs and strategic initiatives.

Collaborating closely with Traditional Owners, Elders, community members, researchers, consultants, universities, and government agencies, you will ensure projects are well planned, professionally delivered and achieve meaningful outcomes for Yinhawangka People.

Key Duties:

- Coordinate the delivery of the Living Cultures Program and associated projects.
- Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, procurement activities, and risk registers.
- Coordinate Family Camps, on-Country activities, workshops, consultations, and community engagement initiatives.
- Prepare reports, Board papers, funding acquittals, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
- Coordinate meetings, agendas, minutes, and project documentation.
- Build strong relationships with Traditional Owners, Elders, government agencies, consultants, and delivery partners.
- Support project governance, financial administration, and contract management.
- Ensure projects align with Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP), Indigenous Data Sovereignty, and cultural governance principles.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the Living Cultures Program.

About You:

We are looking for someone who enjoys bringing projects together, building relationships and delivering meaningful outcomes.

You will ideally have:

- Experience coordinating multiple projects from planning through to completion.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention-to-detail.
- Experience preparing reports, budgets, presentations, and project documentation.
- Confidence collaborating with diverse stakeholders and facilitating community engagement.




- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.??
- Experience managing competing priorities while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office and project management systems.
- A collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused approach to work.

Experience working with:

- Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations
- Native Title organisations or Prescribed Body Corporates (PBCs)
- Cultural heritage, language revitalisation, or community development programs
- Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) principles
- Current unrestricted Western Australian Driver's Licence.
- National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the Pilbara, including remote communities.
