We are hiring a Kids STEM Teacher to deliver hands‑on Arduino, coding, electronics and robotics classes for children aged 8 to 12 in Melbourne.
This is a part‑time contractor role for someone who enjoys teaching children and can explain technical ideas in a straightforward, practical and engaging way.
Work Arrangement
- Contractor role paid at AUD $30 to $35 per hour.
- Part‑time schedule, 2 to 3 days per week.
- Approximately 6 to 8 teaching hours per week, with potential for additional hours based on class demand.
- In‑person classes in Melbourne, Victoria.
Responsibilities
- Teach Arduino, coding, electronics, robotics and STEM activities to children aged 8 to 12.
- Prepare simple project‑based lessons and classroom activities.
- Create a safe, positive and age‑appropriate learning environment.
- Keep students engaged through practical demonstrations and hands‑on projects.
- Communicate student progress and classroom feedback when required.
- Adjust lessons based on student age, ability and class performance.
Requirements
- Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring or coaching children.
- Knowledge of Arduino, coding, robotics, electronics or STEM education.
- Patient, energetic and clear communication style.
- Reliable availability for 2 to 3 days per week.
- Ability to work as a contractor.
Nice to Have
- Experience teaching students aged 8 to 12.
- Experience preparing project‑based technology lessons.
- Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
