Staff Specialist or Visiting Medical Officer (Ear, Nose and Throat)

Permanent and temporary full-time and/or part-time positions.

Hours

Staff Specialist – up to 80 hours per fortnight.

Visiting Medical Officer – up to 64 hours per fortnight.

About the Role

Sunshine Coast Hospital And Health Service are seeking an exceptional Otolaryngology Consultant to join our Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery (ENT) Department in the following areas: Rhinology; General ENT surgeon.

This position provides high quality ENT care for our community, with a focus on leading safe care, driving quality improvement and innovation, and collaboratively contributing to department growth and development within a multidisciplinary team.

We serve the rapidly growing population across coastal and hinterland areas of the Sunshine Coast region, including Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Nambour General Hospital, Gympie Hospital, Maleny Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, and Caloundra Health Service.

Mandatory Requirements

- Current (or eligible for) registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Specialist Medical Practitioner, OR on a defined pathway to specialist registration.
- Current Specialty Fellowship with Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Otolaryngology, or assessment (or be eligible) of substantial comparability by relevant college, or AHPRA Expedited Specialist Pathway eligibility.
- Eligibility for a granted Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) in the relevant specialty field and maintenance of SoCP currency during contract of employment.
