Our Engineering Team plays a key role in maintaining pipeline systems in line with safety, environmental, statutory, licensing, contractual and technical requirements. We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team and provide technical leadership across pipeline facilities. Reporting to the Manager Engineering, this role is accountable for mechanical engineering activities acting as the technical authority for mechanical engineering within the organisation.

What you’ll do

- Manage FEED and estimates of capital and operating costs.
- Lead the specification of materials and services related to assets and equipment.
- Scope and where required, deliver engineering design in the relevant area of discipline to projects.
- Provide engineering support to projects and pipeline operations, as required.
- Manage Stay in Business capital and operational projects.
- Lead and coordinate Engineering Change Management.
- Prepare and review technical reports in accordance with the requirements of standards and legislation.
- Conduct Quality Assurance activities including participating in project hand over and quality checks in the relevant area of discipline.
- Provide engineering support to remote and metropolitan facilities along a pipeline system approximately 800km in length.
- Contribute to process safety, incident investigations, emergency exercises and field assurance audits.
- Represent SEA Gas in engineering and technical matters with regulators, contractors, suppliers and industry bodies.

About you

You are an experienced, senior mechanical engineering professional with strong technical judgement, sound commercial awareness and a practical understanding of pipeline operations, asset integrity and risk management. You communicate clearly,



build trusted relationships and are comfortable working across office, field, contractor and regulatory environments.

What you’ll bring

- Mechanical engineering qualifications CP Eng (Mechanical)
- Registered Professional Engineer of Victoria (highly regarded)
- Minimum 5 years’ pipeline operation experience
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in upstream, midstream or downstream hydrocarbon industry asset management
- Experience with engineering change, technical contracts, incident investigation, emergency management, budget management and project delivery.
- Demonstrated ability in the application of Australian Standards, codes, and legislation within industry. Familiarity with AS 2885.3 and key concepts required for compliance
- Experience with risk assessment and risk management activities such as HAZOPs, Safety Management Studies and LOPAs.
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, written and verbal communication skills.
- High level computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and relevant technical software.
