Job Description
Painter Blaster – Full-Time Location: Welshpool, Western Australia 6106 Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $80,000 – $110,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience) MINPROVISE INTERNATIONAL PTY LTD is a leading total solutions provider delivering specialist maintenance and shutdown services, engineering, fabrication, project services, and sustaining capital works. We also provide a comprehensive range of equipment and products, supporting the mining, oil & gas, and construction industries across Australia and internationally. We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Painter Blasters to join our growing team on a full time basis.
About the Role
As a Painter Blaster, you will be responsible for preparing, blasting, coating, and painting steel structures, mining equipment, industrial machinery, and fabricated components. You will ensure all surface preparation and protective coating work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, Australian Standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret work instructions, technical drawings, and coating specifications.
- Prepare steel surfaces by abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning, and other approved surface preparation methods.
- Apply protective coatings, primers, sealers, and industrial paint systems using airless spray, conventional spray, brush, and roller techniques.
- Mix paints and coatings in accordance with manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
- Inspect prepared surfaces and completed coatings to ensure compliance with quality standards and required film thickness.
- Perform touch-up work, maintenance painting, and coating repairs on mining and industrial equipment.
- Safely operate blasting equipment, spray‑painting equipment, compressors, and other associated tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of painting and blasting equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, coating materials used, and quality inspections.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to meet project deadlines.
- Assist with shutdown, maintenance, fabrication, and construction projects as required.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and environmental requirements.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of full-time experience as a Painter Blaster or in a similar industrial coatings role.
- Experience in abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and industrial protective coatings.
- Knowledge of industrial paint systems, coating application techniques, and quality inspection procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and coating specifications.
- Experience working in mining, oil and gas, construction, or heavy industrial environments is highly regarded.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and environmental compliance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
