Empire Couriers is a proudly Tasmanian-owned freight and logistics company providing reliable transport solutions across the state. We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Depot Manager to lead our Launceston operation and play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and professional running of our depot.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader with a strong background in transport, warehousing, or logistics who enjoys working alongside their team in a quick-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Launceston depot.
- Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse staff and drivers.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound freight to ensure service standards are met.
- Oversee freight handling, scanning, inventory accuracy, and dispatch operations.
- Maintain a safe workplace and ensure compliance with all WHS policies and procedures.
- Monitor depot performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Liaise with customers, drivers, and other Empire depots to deliver outstanding service.
- Assist with loading and unloading freight when required.
About You
- Previous experience in a transport, freight, warehouse, or logistics leadership role.
- Current Forklift Licence (essential).
- HR Licence preferred.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Sound computer skills and the ability to work with transport management systems.
- A hands‑on approach with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to workplace safety and customer service.
