About this Position

We're looking for a Data Engineering Lead to help shape and lead our Data Engineering capability, building the trusted data foundations that support reporting, analytics and future AI initiatives across the business.

Leading a team comprising a Data Scientist and Senior Data Engineer, you'll oversee how data is collected, transformed, structured and stored, ensuring it is scalable, reliable and easy for the business to consume.

This is an opportunity to lead from the front, shaping the future of Data Engineering while supporting key digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and mentor a small team of Data Engineering and Data Science professionals.
- Design and oversee scalable data pipelines across multiple source systems.
- Establish and govern Kimball dimensional modelling standards.
- Build trusted data assets that support reporting, analytics and AI initiatives.
- Improve data quality, governance and engineering standards.
- Support digital transformation initiatives and the ongoing evolution of the enterprise data platform.

What We’re Looking For

Non-Negotiables





- Strong hands‑on experience with Azure Databricks. (minimum 5 years hands on experience minimum with azure data bricks specifically, not AWS)
- Strong experience with dbt. (2 years hands on experience minimum)
- Demonstrated experience implementing Kimball dimensional modelling. (minimum 8 years' experience).
- Experience operating as a Data Engineering Lead or Senior Data Engineer with leadership responsibilities. (lead experience preferred but if not, at least 5 years' experience as senior data engineer).
- Modern Data warehousing expertise leveraging medallion architecture (minimum 8 years experience).

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 6-12 months, you'll have:

- Taken ownership of the Data Engineering function and team.
- Delivered the first phase of foundational data builds.
- Supported the Connected Customer program through scalable data assets.
- Established engineering standards and Kimball-based modelling practices.
- Created the foundations for the next phase of operational data and analytics capability across the business.
