We are currently seeking a suitably qualified, reliable andmotivated Chef to manage the kitchen andpreparation of meals at our 60-bed site, Bethanie Joondanna AgedCare Home.
We are offering this role on a Full-time basis workingMonday to Friday from 7.30am to 3.30 pm.
To be successful in this role, you will be a team player and apeople person, someone who enjoys engaging with residents andworking collaboratively with the kitchen and wider care team tocreate enjoyable dining experiences.
About You
- Possess a passion for, and previous experience working as,a Chef or Cook for large groups of people, ideally in anaged care, hospital or similarenvironment
- Minimum requirement of a Certificate III inCommercial Cookery
- Comfortable with stock maintenance and orderingprocesses
- Excellent working knowledge of the Food Act and FoodStandards Code
- Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or National PoliceClearance (or willingness to apply for one)
The Role
- Prepare fresh, nutritious melas daily in line with menurequirements and resident needs
- Contribute to innovative, creative dishes, particularly forspecial occasions such as themed meals and celebrations
- Engage with residents, listen to feedback and incorporatemeal suggestions into menu planning
- Stock control and kitchen supply management includingordering through internal systems
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace standards atall times
- Undertake responsibility of daily food safe documentationand ensure compliance is met
