Mechanical Engineer – Industrial
As a Mechanical Engineer in our Industrial team based in Brisbane, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineers solutions with people and outcomes in mind.
What You’ll Do
- Undertake detailed engineering design including preparing auditable calculations and computer models.
- Plan, lead and oversee work, including preparation of design calculations, 3D models and construction drawings. Coach and mentor others to grow the technical capability of our team.
- Design activities include engineering investigations and analysis, preparation of engineering deliverables including drawings, reports, mechanical equipment specifications and data sheets.
- Visit client sites for facility and equipment inspections, project meetings, project scoping, installation and commissioning support.
- Apply problem‑solving skills and creativity to develop high-value solutions.
- Contribute to proposals,
engineering estimates and capital cost estimates.
- Apply Secure Design and Value Engineering principles in all daily activities.
What You’ll Bring
- Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualifications and be actively working towards RPEQ status.
- Experience with bulk materials handling systems and equipment, including conveyors, chutes, reclaimers, and loading facilities, alongside knowledge of relevant mining and manufacturing standards.
- Working knowledge of engineering software such as: Sidewinder, BeltAnalyst, Ansys Rocky, programming/scripting (Python, VBA, MATLAB), 3D modelling (Inventor or Fusion), Excel (advanced).
- Experience in applying project principles and methodology to manage projects and achieve program outcomes.
- Strong written communication skills to articulate technical decisions with due justification.
