About you
For this role, we will consider how well you demonstrate:
- Senior management experience within complex ICT or technology-enabled environments, preferably within the public sector or similarly regulated contexts.
- Extensive knowledge across multiple ICT disciplines, combined with the ability to apply that knowledge at a strategic and operational management level rather than a purely technical level.
- Proven ability to exercise high-level reasoning and judgement to resolve complex,
high‑risk and ambiguous issues with organisation-wide impact.
- Highly developed critical thinking and questioning skills, enabling you to test assumptions, identify risks and develop defensible options and recommendations for executive decision making.
- Experience providing authoritative advice to senior executives on operational, financial, workforce and governance matters, with awareness of broader organisational and external implications.
- Strong management-level business analysis skills, including problem definition, options analysis, cost–benefit considerations and implementation planning.
- Sound understanding of public sector financial management principles, budgeting, monitoring and accountability requirements relevant to ICT operations.
- Capability in interpreting and applying legislation, policies, standards and industrial instruments within a statutory environment.
- Highly developed written communication skills, with a proven ability to produce clear, concise and persuasive briefings and reports for executive and broader audiences.
- Advanced interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes, manage competing interests and build credibility at senior levels without reliance on direct authority.
- Ability to work in a team environment and develop effective working relationships with internal and external clients, team members, vendors and end users.
