The Role
Reporting to the CEO and wider ELT team you will take ownership of the finance function, providing both strategic and hands‑on financial leadership while ensuring the organisation maintains strong governance, compliance, and financial performance.
- Leading the day‑to‑day financial operations of the organisation
- Preparing accurate and insightful monthly management and Board reports
- Providing financial analysis and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, funding requirements, and regulatory obligations
- Supporting the organisation through a period of change, driving process improvements, and strengthening financial controls
- Partnering with operational leaders to provide commercial and financial guidance
- Leading and mentoring the finance team while maintaining a collaborative, high‑performing culture
The Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Financial Controller who thrives in dynamic environments and is comfortable stepping into a leadership position from day one. You will bring:
- CPA or CA qualification
- Previous experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Leader
- Demonstrated experience within the NDIS, disability, aged care, health, or broader not‑for‑profit sector, with a strong understanding of government funding models
- Proven experience managing government‑funded programs and funding compliance
- Strong Board reporting experience, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to executive stakeholders
- Experience leading finance teams through organisational change and transformation
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
- A proactive, hands‑on approach with the ability to hit the ground running
