The Role

We are seeking an experienced Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Officer to support the sustainment and ongoing management of a critical Defence communications capability.

This role will suit logistics professionals with experience in Defence sustainment, fleet management and asset management environments.

Working within an integrated team, you will contribute to the effective management of logistics support activities, inventory and fleet assets while helping ensure capability readiness and ongoing operational outcomes.

You will engage with a broad range of stakeholders across Defence and industry, providing advice, conducting analysis and supporting the delivery of logistics and sustainment objectives within a complex Defence program.

Key Responsibilities

- Contribute to logistics management activities supporting the sustainment of complex Defence capabilities.
- Undertake logistics, inventory and fleet management activities to support operational outcomes.
- Support the review, development and continuous improvement of logistics policies, procedures and processes.
- Conduct research, analysis and assessments to support logistics planning and asset management activities.




- Provide advice on logistics policy, legislative requirements and governance processes.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with Defence, industry and project stakeholders.
- Support capability sustainment activities through data analysis, reporting and documentation.
- Identify and develop solutions to issues impacting logistics, asset management and program outcomes.
- Contribute to team planning, workflow management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support compliance with Defence regulatory, policy and legislative frameworks.

About You

- Demonstrated experience in Integrated Logistics Support, logistics management, fleet management or asset management.
- Experience working within Defence, Defence industry or similarly complex technical environments.
- Strong understanding of logistics governance, sustainment processes and asset management principles.
- Experience using Defence logistics and enterprise systems such as MILIS, SAP or similar ERP platforms.
- Experience preparing reports, conducting analysis and providing logistics advice to support decision‑making.
- Experience supporting communications, ICT, electronics or technical equipment sustainment activities will be highly regarded.
- Understanding of Defence supply chain,



inventory management and lifecycle management practices will be highly regarded.
- Defence SAP training, Defence logistics qualifications or relevant industry certifications will be highly regarded.

Additional Information

- Commencement: August 2026.
- Location: Melbourne. Working arrangement: Approximately 3 days per week onsite.
- Security Clearance: Current NV2 security clearance required.
- This position may require access to export‑controlled technology and materials. Candidates may be required to disclose dual citizenship and country of birth information as part of the engagement process. Eligibility to access controlled materials may be subject to additional assessment and approval requirements. Competitive market rates considered.
