Overview

Role title: Enrolled Nurse / Maternity Ward (Afternoon or Night Duty Shifts). Role type: Permanent part time. Department and location: Whelan Ward, The Mater Hospital, North Sydney. Salary: 36.69 - 38.32 AUD Hourly + super “Pro rata”.

Welcome to the Mater. We are a private maternity service committed to inclusive care and world‑class standards. This role supports the Nursing and Midwifery staff in delivering care to mothers and newborns in the Whelan Postnatal Ward and Well Baby Nursery.

Responsibilities

- Provide support to the nursing and midwifery team in the delivery of care to mothers and newborns.
- Assist with daily cares, observation, and support for parents in their transition to parenthood.
- Participate in providing care in the Whelan Postnatal Ward and Well Baby Nursery.
- Support mother crafting and early parenting skills as part of neonatal and postnatal care.

Qualifications

- Evidence of completion of Diploma of Enrolled Nursing.
- Willingness to work in the maternity setting and assist with newborn care.
- Ability and flexibility to work afternoon shifts and night duty shifts.
- Previous experience in an acute healthcare or maternity setting is desirable but not essential.
