Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a capable and organised Human Resources Officer who enjoys variety, working with people and applying sound judgement in a busy environment.
Working as part of the People and Culture team and reporting to the Manager Human Resources, you will support managers and employees across recruitment, onboarding, training coordination, employee lifecycle processes and general HR administration.
This role suits someone who is confident in their administration skills, comfortable juggling priorities, and motivated to take initiative to solve problems whilst maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Based in Derby, this position offers an attractive base salary of $82,279 plus generous allowances up to $16,000 (total cash value up to $98,383 ) plus superannuation and other benefits including, salary sacrifice, novated leasing and health and wellbeing initiatives.
About the Role:
As a Human Resources Officer, you will work across a wide range of HR and people related functions engaging with teams from across the organisation.
You will be trusted to manage sensitive and personal information and to provide practical,
balanced support to employees and leaders. The role offers exposure to recruitment, workplace relations, learning and development, WHS‑related administration and organisational processes, making it a strong development opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Providing day‑to‑day HR administration and support to managers and employees.
- Assisting with recruitment activities including advertising, interviews and employment documentation.
- Organising onboarding, inductions, probation and exit processes.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records and HR systems.
- Preparing correspondenceand routine HR documentation.
- Supporting performance and employee lifecycle processes.
- Assisting with training administration, compliance and record keeping.
- Applying initiative and problem‑solving skills to assist with enquiries and resolve routine HR matters.
- Working closely with teams across the organisation to support positive workplace outcomes.
Who This Role Is For

Formal qualifications are not essential to this position - strong capability, judgement and professionalism are key .

- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience in human resources, people and culture or a regulated environment
- Experience in local government or the public sector.
