Looking for a Rewarding Outdoor Career? Become a Rural Ranger with Central Highlands Regional Council! As a Rural Ranger, you’ll be on the frontline protecting our region’s land, animals, and biosecurity. You'll work outdoors, engage with the community, and ensure compliance with important laws.
Responsibilities
- Providing high level customer service to members of the public and internal stakeholders
- Carry out compliance checks and provide expert advice
- Handle and manage animals and pests humanely and safely
- Collaborate across teams to improve environmental outcomes
- Maintain clear records and respond to public enquiries
- Monitor and manage stock routes and pest activity
- Assist with grant applications for rural projects
- Issuing infringement notices
- Recording and reporting of incidents
Qualifications
- Experience in pest and livestock management, enforcement, or rural compliance
- Confident communicator with good judgement
- Strong time management and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of local government operations and relevant legislation
- Driver's licence (C class)
- Working with Children (Blue Card) (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
