We are seeking TWO Senior Application Migration Engineers to support a major government ICT transformation program. This hands‑on role will be responsible for migrating, modernising and enhancing a diverse portfolio of enterprise applications as they transition to a cloud‑first Azure environment.
Working alongside architects, cloud engineers, cyber security specialists, and delivery teams, you will design, develop, refactor, and deploy modern application solutions while helping establish best practices for secure software development and cloud‑native delivery.
You MUST possess a minimum of an NV1 security clearance and be able to work in the Canberra office at least 3 days per week to be considered for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse existing applications and develop migration and modernisation approaches.
- Design, develop and maintain full‑stack applications using contemporary Microsoft technologies.
- Refactor legacy applications to improve security, maintainability and cloud readiness.
- Implement and enhance APIs, web applications and backend services.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation.
- Support application migration to Azure‑hosted environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, integration and deployment issues.
- Participate in architecture, design and code reviews.
- Contribute to security uplift, remediation and technical debt reduction activities.
- Produce technical documentation and support transition to operational teams.
Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience developing enterprise applications using .NET and C#.
- Strong front‑end development experience using Angular and/or React.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Experience working with SQL Server and modern data access technologies.
- Experience building solutions using MS Power Platform and Dynamics 365.
- Strong understanding of Azure application services and cloud‑native development.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Azure App Services, Functions, API Management and Container technologies.
- DevSecOps and secure coding practices.
- Application migration and modernisation experience.
- Experience working in government or highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of authentication and authorisation technologies including Entra ID, OAuth2 and OpenID Connect.
