Overview

Build your future in hospital pharmacy at one of NSW's leading tertiary hospitals. Intern Pharmacists rotate through a range of clinical and operational areas across the department, gaining broad exposure to hospital pharmacy practice. A structured intern training program supports the completion of all Intern Training Program (ITP) requirements while developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence required for a successful career in hospital pharmacy. Interns are encouraged to actively participate in departmental programs and initiatives, with opportunities to contribute to areas such as antimicrobial stewardship, tertiary referral paediatrics, and pharmacy production services. Through a combination of clinical and operational experiences, interns will build a strong foundation in delivering safe, effective, and patient‑centred pharmacy services.

Responsibilities

- Rotate through clinical and operational areas within the Pharmacy Department.
- Complete all requirements of the Intern Training Program (ITP).
- Actively participate in departmental programs and initiatives, including antimicrobial stewardship, tertiary referral paediatrics, and pharmacy production services.
- Deliver safe, effective, patient‑centred pharmacy services.
- Participate in weekend, public holiday and after‑hour rosters and do overtime as required.

Additional Information

- To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
