Role Overview
Be the first point of contact for consumers, carers and health professionals, helping connect people with vital mental health services. Join a supportive team and play a key role in coordinating care, managing information and delivering exceptional customer service. Access Mental Health is Tasmania’s statewide 24/7 entry point to public mental health services, providing triage, assessment, and referral. The Acute Care Stream (ACS) works within a multidisciplinary environment to deliver timely, coordinated and person-centred responses for people experiencing mental health concerns.
Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality administrative support to the Acute Care Stream, including managing referrals, telephone enquiries, appointment coordination, and consumer information systems.
- Act as a key point of contact for consumers, carers, health professionals and external agencies, ensuring enquiries are managed professionally, confidentially and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records, data entry and reporting processes, while supporting effective communication and coordination across the multidisciplinary Access Mental Health team.
Qualifications
- Ability to work collaboratively with people with lived experience, their families and friends, and within a multidisciplinary team,
even under high pressure and change.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with a proven ability to undertake duties in a professional manner and maintain discretion, whilst liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge and experience of office administration practices, competent keyboard skills, and ability to use office automation systems within a Microsoft Office environment and general knowledge of financial administration processes within the public sector.

Salary
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025.
