Moreton ATSICHS operates a growing network of healthcare clinics for local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Our model of care provides holistic health and wellbeing services to support our community across their lifespan. We bring together primary care, allied health, dental, mental health and wellbeing, maternity and early childhood, disability services, specialist services, and aged care as one team focused on clients’ individual needs and goals. About the role
As a Welcome Officer, your role is the first point of contact for community members and visitors. The role is dedicated to creating a culturally safe and supportive welcoming environment, ensuring all individuals feel respected, valued and supported as they seek our services. The role will guide community members through Moreton ATSICHS services, offering tailored support and helping clients navigate the services available. By providing a culturally appropriate approach, this role is essential in strengthening connections and empowering the community.
Responsibilities
Your day‑to‑day duties may include:
- Responding to onsite client enquiries, feedback or concerns
- Screening for infectious or acute conditions (e.g. Covid, flu, heart condition), providing sanitizer/PPE, instructions or escalating for treatment as needed
- Assisting clients to register for My Medicare (and associated Government apps)
- Prompting clients to complete onsite feedback forms
- Providing new POD clients with POD‑specific information packs
Qualifications / Requirements
- It is essential that the incumbent is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person (genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti‑Discrimination Act 1991)
- Current Criminal History Check
- Current C‑Class Driver’s Licence (QLD)
- Current Working with Children’s Check (Qld Blue Card)
- Current CPR Certificate
