Job Description
About the Role
/n
We're seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support the safe delivery of commercial construction projects. Reporting to the Construction Manager – Site Operations, you will play a key role in implementing and overseeing our Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Management System on-site, ensuring compliance with WHS and environmental legislation and driving a strong safety culture.

This is a hands‐on, site‐based position where you'll work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies to proactively identify risks and maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
/n
Project & Site HSE Management
/n
/n
- Implement and manage the HSE Management System across assigned projects
/n
- Identify, assess and control safety and environmental risks
/n
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and company procedures
/n
- Participate in project handovers and provide HSE input throughout the project lifecycle
/n/n
Systems, Compliance & Administration
/n
/n
- Maintain HSE documentation and systems (e.g., Procore, 1Breadcrumb)
/n
- Review and approve SWMS, conduct site inductions, and manage permits to work
/n
- Monitor subcontractor compliance and site safety performance
/n/n
Incident & Emergency Management
/n
/n
- Manage incidents in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements
/n
- Provide first aid and support incident investigations
/n
- Coordinate emergency preparedness and drills
/n/n
Inspection, Audit & Continuous Improvement
/n
/n
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits
/n
- Track and close out non‐conformances within required timeframes
/n
- Support internal and external audits
/n/n
Engagement & Communication
/n
/n
- Lead toolbox talks, pre‐start meetings, and HSE committee sessions
/n
- Promote consultation and proactive hazard identification
/n
- Liaise with regulatory authorities (e.g., Work Safe, EPA) where required
/n/n
Site Operations Support
/n
/n
- Ensure site amenities and safety controls meet required standards
/n
- Support traffic management, site housekeeping, and site safety planning
/n
- Monitor hazardous substances, electrical safety, and plant compliance
/n/n
About You
/n
Qualifications & Certifications
/n
/n
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum)
/n
- Construction White Card
/n
- Current First Aid Certificate
/n
- Additional qualifications (highly regarded): Diploma WHS, Cert IV TAE, auditing certification, trade background
/n/n
Experience
/n
/n
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar HSE role
/n
- Strong experience within commercial or industrial construction
/n
- Experience using HSE management systems (e.g., Procore, 1Breadcrumb)
/n/n
Skills & Knowledge
/n
/n
- Strong understanding of WHS and environmental legislation
/n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
/n
- Ability to influence safety behaviours and drive a positive safety culture
/n
- Strong organisational, problem‐solving and time‐management skills
/n
- Confident working in fast‐paced, deadline‐driven environments
/n/n
Additional Requirements

- Current driver's licence
/n
- Ability to travel between sites if required
/n
- High level of professionalism and presentation
