About Central Gippsland Health

CGH provides acute care through an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond, with beds across Sale, Maffra and Heyfield campuses. Acute services include a full‑time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services, as well as general medical services and sub‑acute rehabilitation. CGH is also a leading teaching hospital affiliated with Monash University’s School of Rural Health, providing placements and clinical experience for students.
About Department
The Environmental Services Department is responsible for providing a range of services to all areas of CGH.
Services include:
- Portering services, linen collection and delivery, patient/specimen/historic transfers
- Housekeeping and cleaning
- Ensuring the CGHS campuses meet Victorian Government cleaning standards
- Effective waste management of clinical and general waste, and carrying out waste audits
- Supporting a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff
About the Role
You will:
- Provide a clean and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors at CGH
- Maintain high standards of quality of care and service throughout CGH facilities
- Practice, observe and comply with all applicable standards, regulations and organisation policies
Duties
- Clean various areas in CGH facilities and equipment as nominated by the Environmental Services Team Leader.
- Ensure all chemicals used in environmental services are at appropriate dilution rates and intended uses.
- Perform all tasks in accordance with infection control standards, cleaning standards and schedules, and organisational regulations, policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Minimum Certificate III in Cleaning Operations or equivalent qualification, or willingness to undertake appropriate training.
- Previous work experience in a similar role.
