Senior SAP ECP Specialist

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Melbourne Based | Hybrid Working

As part of a major payroll capability and transformation program, I’m seeking an experienced Senior SAP ECP Specialist to provide expert support, optimisation and enhancement of a complex SAP payroll environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior payroll specialist who enjoys balancing production support with strategic project work while partnering with HR, Payroll, Finance and Technology stakeholders.

The Opportunity

As the Senior SAP ECP Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance and system performance. You will act as a trusted advisor across the business, supporting ongoing payroll operations while contributing to system improvements and transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert support for SAP Payroll/ECP, resolving complex payroll issues and ensuring timely, accurate payroll processing.
- Configure and maintain payroll schemas, PCRs, wage types, finance postings and payroll integrations.
- Lead solution design, requirements gathering and delivery activities for payroll enhancements and projects.
- Support testing across SIT, UAT, regression and parallel payroll runs.
- Manage legislative and compliance updates, including STP, superannuation and taxation changes.




- Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to deliver best‑practice payroll solutions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation and payroll optimisation.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Extensive experience working with SAP Payroll , ideally within Employee Central Payroll (ECP) environments.
- Strong expertise across payroll schemas, PCRs, wage types, payroll reporting, IDOCs and G/L posting.
- Deep understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting complex payroll operations and delivering payroll-related projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple business functions.
