JPEX Recruitment is partnering with a long-established and highly respected residential builder to appoint an experienced General Manager. The company specialises in custom homes, pre-designed homes, house and land packages, knockdown rebuilds and end-to-end project management, all delivered through a customer-first approach.

This executive leadership role is responsible for the strategic direction, operational performance and commercial success of the business. You will lead the implementation of the company's strategic plan while ensuring day-to-day operations align with revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction objectives.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Directors and Advisory Board, you will be responsible for leading the business across operations, construction, land development, sales, finance and people leadership , ensuring the business continues to achieve its growth, profitability and customer satisfaction objectives.

Key Focus Areas

Leadership

- Provide executive leadership across the business, leading and mentoring the senior leadership team.
- Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Recruit, develop and retain high-performing employees.
- Establish and implement best practice systems, policies and operating procedures across all departments.
- Build strong relationships with Directors, employees, suppliers, subcontractors, customers and key industry stakeholders.
- Represent the business with government authorities, industry bodies and external partners.





Strategic Planning & Execution

- Lead the development and execution of the company's strategic plan.
- Drive business growth through market positioning, product development and long-term planning.
- Monitor performance against strategic objectives and provide regular reporting to the Directors and Advisory Board.
- Identify future investment and development opportunities.
- Ensure operational functions are aligned to deliver quality outcomes and exceptional customer experiences.

Business Growth & Commercial Performance

- Deliver revenue, profit and business performance targets.
- Partner with Sales to establish and achieve business development objectives.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting and resource planning alongside the Finance Manager.
- Ensure marketing initiatives align with business strategy and budget.
- Drive operational efficiency across pre-construction and construction teams.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building legislation, WHS requirements and industry standards.
- Support land development projects by working closely with councils, planners, engineers and consultants to facilitate successful project delivery.

About you

You are an experienced executive leader with a proven ability to lead people, deliver commercial outcomes and execute strategic business plans.

You will possess:

- Extensive senior leadership skills with proven experience as a General Manager,



Operations Manager or Executive Leader – Construction industry experience would be advantageous, but not a prerequisite.
- Tertiary qualification in a business-related discipline, construction or engineering. (Master degree is highly desirable).
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budgets, margins, productivity and P&L; management.
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing strategic growth plans.
- Experience leading sales, operations and construction teams to achieve business objectives.
- Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to influence organisational culture and drive continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of residential construction processes, legislation and WHS requirements is advantageous.
