Freon Group offers a Maintenance Manager role supporting major mining and infrastructure clients, including BHP, Rio Tinto, and Alcoa.

Responsibilities

- Lead the development and implementation of a structured maintenance strategy aligned to safety, operational and business objectives.
- Drive proactive maintenance practices across preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Improve asset reliability, availability and performance across critical heavy industrial equipment.
- Lead and mentor maintenance teams, including planners, supervisors and technicians.
- Oversee maintenance execution, major inspections, contractor performance and maintenance standards.
- Build strong relationships with operational leaders to ensure maintenance plans support business priorities.
- Support maintenance budgeting, cost forecasting, backlog management and long‑term capital replacement planning.
- Use data, reporting and performance insights to support better decision‑making and continuous improvement.
- Foster a safety‑first culture built on accountability, quality, teamwork and operational excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

- Proven experience in maintenance management, planning, reliability or asset management within heavy industry.
- Strong understanding of maintenance systems, planning discipline and reliability‑focused work practices.
- Experience leading maintenance teams and developing capability across supervisors,



planners and technicians.
- A strong safety mindset and commitment to quality, compliance and risk management.
- High‑level communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation capability.
- Confidence working with data, reporting, maintenance systems and performance metrics.
- A results‑driven mindset with the ability to improve processes, reduce downtime and support cost‑effective delivery.
- A relevant trade qualification and/or tertiary qualification in Business, Management, Leadership or a related field (highly regarded).
- Current driver’s licence.
