About the role
Western Health’s Intensive Care Units are seeking highly motivated and suitably qualified Intensive Care Nurses to join our dedicated critical care team.
Western Health's purpose is to work collaboratively to deliver high-quality health and wellbeing services for the people of Melbourne's West.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and high quality, evidence-based patient care is planned and delivered that is in line with Western Health values (Cares - Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Safety), policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure best care for patients.
- Promote and maintain a positive workplace culture that supports teamwork.
- Support, mentor and promote ongoing learning and professional development for all staff within the unit.
- Actively participate in quality improvement projects for the source.
Qualifications
- Postgraduate Certificate in Intensive Care Nursing or Critical Care Nursing.
- Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (APHRA).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently, as required.
- Demonstrated passion for intensive care nursing and a commitment to being a positive role model within the unit.
- Flexibility to work within a rotating roster, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills.
Registered Nurse – ICU Pool (Part time, Ongoing)
Our Pool is the heartbeat of Western Health, ensuring seamless coverage across all campuses. As a Pool Registered Nurse you will be contracted to fill ICU vacancies that arise daily across Western Health sites.
